The Angry Girl Zine is a publication prompted by Polish anti-abortion protests.

In 2020, mass protests erupted in Poland when a civil proposition was taken up by the Polish parliament that would result in, effectively, a total ban on abortions — this zine was self-published in protest.

Being only the latest in a decades-long campaign by the Polish government to restrict reproductive rights, the proposition has inspired feelings of rage in the population — an emotion with an explosive character that, at the same time, drives action and motivates resistance. That power of range is behind the inspiration for this zine, which is why it was a theme for the open call. Rage is the opposite of acceptance, resignation, and apathy. Rage can fuel action, inspire others, and be the driving force of change.
